Inspired by the “Super Tuscan” red wines from Italy, our Napa Valley Sangiovese is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. Slow toasted, tight grained French Oak barrels, purchased from historic Gamba cooperage in Piemonte, lend an aromatic and textural complexity of the wine. Rich aromas from cassis and licorice complement the wine’s high fruit tones and earthy spicy bouquet. On the palate, the Sangiovese’s bright red fruit flavors and firm acidity wrap around a dense, cherry currant core of fruit.
This versatile wine pairs easily with pizza, pasta, French Dip sandwiches, Italian meatballs, cured meats, most game meats, eggplant parmesan, and dishes with heavy red sauces.
